Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026. Festidy was called Festidi until October 2026; festidi.com now redirects here and this policy covers both.
Festidy ("Festidy", "we") runs festidy.com, a free party-planning site. This page explains what we collect and why. Questions: hello@festidy.com.
Your party plan stays on your device unless you save it to an account
The details you type into your plan (names, dates, guest counts, helpers, budget, shopping list, and any emergency contacts you add for party day) are saved in your own browser. We don't receive them unless you choose one of the features below; with an account, they're saved to it too. Clearing your browser data deletes the copy in your browser.
The site also keeps copies of pages you've opened in your browser, so it works offline. They contain no personal data.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional. If you sign in, we store your plan with your account so you can open it on other devices. To sign you in we keep your email address or mobile number, and your name if you sign in with Google or Facebook (we receive only your name and email from them, never your password or posts, and we never post for you). Sign-in codes are sent by email or text message. With an account, all your parties, including past ones, are saved to it. To delete your account and saved plan, email us and we'll remove them within 30 days.
What we collect when you choose to share it
- Email reminders: if you have an account, we email you about your own party: once a week when something on your plan is late or due soon, then 3 days before and the night before. Accounts made from October 10, 2026 start with these on; you can turn them off in your plan's ⋯ menu or with the one-click unsubscribe link in every email. To write them we keep your account email, the party date and title, your time zone, and the plan items that have a date. Earlier reminder sign-ups (an email, the party date, party type, theme, and plan title) run until shortly after their party.
- Vendor inquiries: your name, email, message, and the party summary you choose to send. We pass them to the vendor you contacted and keep a copy so we can help if something goes wrong.
- Vendor listings: business details, contact information, and photos that vendors submit. Approved listings (without email or phone) are shown publicly.
- Giveaways: your email and ZIP code, to run the giveaway and contact the winner.
- Recommending a vendor: the vendor's name, what they do, their website or Instagram, and why you like them, if you say. We keep it to review and contact the vendor. We don't ask who you are.
- Reporting a problem on an invitation page: the party code, what the page was showing (for example, whether it loaded and which reply was picked, never your name or reply), your screen width and language, and anything you type. We keep it up to 400 days to fix problems.
- "Would you use Festidy again?": your answer and the line you add, if any, with the party type. We keep it up to 400 days.
Invitations and RSVPs
If a host creates an RSVP link, we store the invitation they write (party details, address, an optional photo, gift and parking notes, and a sign-up list) and the names they give each invited guest, so each guest can open their own link. When you reply as a guest, we store what you enter: your name, whether you're coming, how many adults and kids, and anything you choose to add, such as a child's first name, allergies or needs, whether a grown-up will stay, a phone number or email, and a note. Only the host sees your reply; other guests see only first names next to sign-up items they claimed. Photos added to a party album can be seen by anyone with the link. If the host sends invitations or updates by email through Festidy, we use the email addresses only for that party. Until someone opens the party's link, we send the first few invitation emails at once and hold the rest for a few hours; held addresses are deleted once sent, and within three days in any case. We note that the party's link was opened, not who opened it. Emails from Festidy end with one line saying Festidy is free, with a tag that tells us the visit came from an email.
If you ask, we email you a private link to your party. We don't keep your address; we store only a scrambled form for a few days to limit how often links can be sent. Helpers you add get a private list; we keep their first name and the tasks you give them with the party. We keep the invitation so hosts can look back on their party and plan the next one. Guest replies and sign-ups, including any child's first name and allergies, are deleted automatically 12 months after the party date. The host can delete the invitation, replies, sign-ups, and album at any time from their plan, and any guest can ask us to delete their reply.
We don't use your details for marketing
We don't use hosts' or guests' contact details to market to them, and we never sell personal information. If we ever want to send you news about Festidy, we'll ask first, and you can say no or unsubscribe at any time.
Analytics and cookies
We count a few actions, such as a visit, when a plan is created or shared, or when a link is clicked, to learn what helps. With them we keep where a visitor first came from (for example, a guest page, a friend's link, or a search) and, while we test two versions of something, which version this browser sees; both are decided in your browser and contain no personal details. If you share Festidy with your own link, it carries a random code, and we count the parties started from it (there are no rewards). We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies; you can block them in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out add-on. If your browser's time zone is in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Google Analytics stays off until you choose Allow, and No thanks keeps it off; your choice is saved only in your browser. You can change your choice at any time. Before a page address goes to Google Analytics, we remove private parts such as party keys, guest and helper codes, and share codes.
The shopping page logs clicks and events: the theme, the party-size group, which picks and tier you looked at, and a click ID we pass to the store. "Report this pick" keeps an optional note from you for up to 400 days. Your plan is read in your browser only; it isn't sent to us from that page. We don't sell personal information and don't use it for targeted advertising by others.
Other services the site uses
When you add a city or ZIP code to a plan, your browser asks Open-Meteo for the party-day weather and Zippopotam.us to find the town. They receive the place and your internet (IP) address, not your name or any other details.
If you tap the map of a park in your plan, your browser loads a map from Google Maps, which receives the place and your internet (IP) address and may set its own cookies. Nothing loads from Google until you tap.
We use internet addresses briefly to stop abuse, such as too many messages from one place; those counters are deleted automatically within two days. When a business submits a listing, we keep the address it was sent from with the listing, so we can review it and deal with fake submissions.
Links to other sites and affiliate links
Some links to shops and services are affiliate links: if you buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Children
Festidy is meant for adults planning parties. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and other adults, not children, enter a child's first name and allergies when they reply to an invitation, and those replies are deleted 12 months after the party. Please don't include a child's full name or other personal details in messages to vendors beyond what they need to plan the party.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep reminder sign-ups until shortly after the party, guest replies and sign-ups for 12 months after the party, and accounts, invitations, party photos, inquiries, and listings for as long as they're useful for running Festidy and planning future parties, or until you or the host delete them. We review what we keep at least once a year and delete what's no longer needed. To see, correct, download, or delete your information, email hello@festidy.com; we answer within 30 days. Hosts can also delete an RSVP link and everything in it from their plan.
Your rights, including in the EU and UK
We use your information to provide the features you ask for (the legal basis is our agreement with you, or our legitimate interest in running a safe, useful service), and we send optional emails only with your consent. Reminders about your own party are part of the planner you signed up for, and you can turn them off at any time. Wherever you live, you can ask to access, correct, download, or delete your information, to limit how we use it, or to object to its use, and you can withdraw consent at any time. If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. Festidy is based in the United States and stores data there; when we transfer information from the EU, EEA, or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
Data is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States. It's encrypted in transit (HTTPS only) and at rest: plans, parties and party and vendor photos with keys managed by AWS Key Management Service, and copies of email sent to our addresses (kept 30 days) with Amazon S3 managed keys. It's backed up, and access is limited to the people who run Festidy. Our logs don't keep full email addresses.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll note it on the site.
