Make my party planHow we calculate
- Bags: one per child plus 2 spares for siblings, the same count as Festidy's planner. Count the birthday child too.
- Total: bags times the cost of one bag.
- Packs of 12: bags divided by 12, rounded up, in case you buy favors in dozens.
- Filler ideas: three sets at about $2, $5 and $10 a bag, shown for the age of your youngest guest. Prices are rough and change by store.
- Safety: nothing small enough to fit in a toilet-paper tube for children under 3. Latex balloons are a choking hazard for children under 8, so none appear in any set. Hard candy, popcorn, nuts and whole grapes are choking risks for children under 4.

Tips for goodie bags
- One good thing beats a bag of extras. Bubbles, chalk, a mini coloring book, or the craft they made at the party.
- Two or three spares cover most surprise siblings. Leftovers keep for the next playdate.
- Go by your youngest guest. If a toddler sibling is coming, fill every bag for the toddler.
- Skip food unless you know the allergies. Festidy's RSVP asks guests to note allergies, so you know before you buy.
Questions
How many goodie bags do I need?
One for every child plus 2 spares for siblings. For 12 kids that is 14 bags.
How much should I spend on a goodie bag?
About $2 to $10 a bag covers most plans. For 14 bags that is about $28 at $2, $70 at $5 and $140 at $10.
What can I put in a goodie bag for toddlers?
Only large things: jumbo chalk, a bubble bottle, a board book or a soft ball. Skip anything small enough to fit inside a toilet-paper tube, plus hard candy, popcorn, nuts and whole grapes.
Are balloons safe in goodie bags?
Not for young children. Latex balloons and broken balloon pieces are a choking hazard for children under 8, so leave them out of the bags.
Do I need a goodie bag for the birthday child and siblings?
Count the birthday child in your kids total, since they'll want one too. Siblings are what the 2 spares are for.
