Activities for your murder mystery party
How to play and what you need. Pick them in your plan and the supplies go on your shopping list.

Murder mystery dinner
Mail each guest a character card a week ahead with a costume idea and one secret. Over dinner, read a clue between courses; guests question each other, and before dessert everyone writes down who did it. The host reveals the culprit with the cake.
You’ll need: A printed murder mystery party kit, or character cards you write, Clue envelopes, one per course, Pens and guess cards

Alibi interviews
Each guest has an alibi on their character card. Between courses, guests pair up for three-minute interviews, then swap partners. Everyone takes notes on who was where and whose story has a hole in it.
You’ll need: Character cards with alibis, Small notebooks, Pens, A timer

Suspect lineup
Draw a height chart on a paper backdrop, like a police lineup. Each guest steps up in character with a name card for a photo, and the host reads a one-line description. Post the photos on the case board before the final vote.
You’ll need: Paper and a marker for the height chart, Name cards, A phone or camera

Best in character award
All night, guests try to stay in character. Before dessert, everyone votes on a card for the guest who played their part best, and the host announces the winner right after the culprit is revealed.
You’ll need: Vote cards, Pens, A small trophy or a magnifying glass for the winner
