Make my party planHow it works
- The games: 304 games from Festidy's 83 themes, the same ones the planner suggests. Each has an age range, minutes, rules and supplies.
- Age: a game shows when your child's age is inside its range. Most games run 10 or 15 minutes.
- Theme: your theme's games come first, then games from other themes that fit. Games from themes made for your child's age come before the rest.
- Indoors or out: our judgment from the rules. Games that need running room, grass or water are outdoors; games that need a dark room or hiding places around the house are indoors; table, circle and small-space games work in both.
- Calm or active: calm games are crafts, circle games and tossing from a line. Active games are running, dancing, hunting and racing.
- Safety: games with latex balloons get a reminder for kids under 8, who can choke on balloons and pieces (CPSC).

Tips for party games
- Plan one main game and one craft. Festidy's 2-hour schedule has a main game at 0:30 and a craft at 1:35; free play covers the rest.
- Mix calm and active. Put an active game before snacks and a calm one before cake, so kids sit down for candles.
- Nobody is out. Little kids hate sitting out. Most of these games keep everyone playing, and a hunt works best when every kid finds the same number.
- Set up before guests arrive. Tape lines, hide eggs and lay out supplies while the first kids play.
- Have a rain plan. Pick one indoor game in case the weather turns.
Questions
What games can 6-year-olds play at a birthday party?
Freeze dance, a hunt (dino eggs, bugs or bows) and a simple relay all suit 6-year-olds. Our finder has 202 games for age 6; set the theme to see the ones that match your party first.
How many games do you need for a 2-hour party?
Two or three games and one craft. Festidy's 2-hour schedule gives the main game 30 minutes (0:30 to 1:00) and most games take 10 to 15 minutes, so plan 2 games there and a craft before goodbyes.
What are good indoor party games for kids?
Freeze dance, pass the present, pin the horn on the unicorn, a hunt around the house and a table craft all work indoors. Pick Indoors in the finder for games that fit your child's age.
What games go with a dinosaur party?
Festidy's dinosaur theme has four: a fossil dig in a sand tub (ages 3 to 8), a dino egg hunt (2 to 7), stomp and freeze (2 to 8) and a meteor relay (6 to 11). Pick Dinosaur in the finder to see how to play each one.
How long should a party game last?
About 10 to 15 minutes. Of our 304 games, 212 take 10 or 15 minutes; crafts and painting take 20 to 30.
